​Horseback Riding Lessons

Owner, Melissa Vance, is an Equine Canada certified instructor with over 20 years experience who is both First Aid and CPR qualified.

If you are interested in learning to ride, Millside Stables offers horseback riding lessons for all experience levels. Beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome.

We offer a large selection of high quality horses and ponies suitable for all riding abilities and skill development.

New students are required to begin with a private 1/2 hour lesson in a controlled and safe setting; on an experienced school horse. More advanced students ride in one hour group lessons on horses matching their skill level as they develop. All students are challenged and encouraged to improve their skills.

All riders are able to enjoy our facilities throughout the year, including two large indoor arenas, climate controlled tack room, viewing gallery, and three large outdoor sand rings.

  • Private Lessons (30 minutes): $48.00 +HST
  • Group Lessons (1 hour): $48.00 +HST

Birthday Parties

If you would like to celebrate your birthday with our equine friends, we offer a unique party experience that is sure to please children of all ages! No previous riding experience required.

You can rest assured that there will be a trained and dedicated instructor present for the entire celebration. Each child will be introduced to their very own calm, beginner safe, horse or pony. We start by discussing general horse safety, how to groom, tack-up and finally, ride their mount.

We also offer time for a short game, gifts and cake!

When scheduling your next birthday party please remember: 
  • All riders must be 5 years of age or older
  • All equipment is provided
  • We are able to accommodate up to 10 children
  • A large birthday cake (optional flavours) is included along with juice, pop, or water to drink.​

Spring, Summer and Winter Camps

What a way to spend the holidays! Camp at Millside is always a hit! We are proud to offer a unique camp experience that is sure to please children of all ages!

Our Spring, Summer and Winter Camps feature fun horse activities and allow participants to focus on patience, compassion, horsemanship, and socialization.

Camp days run from 9:00am - 4:00pm and include:

  • Horse safety and care
  • Stable Management
  • Two riding lessons daily
  • Crafts, and more!

Our friendly, beginner safe horses and ponies and enthusiastic instructors will guide your child through a camp experience that is safe, educational and fun! Each Camp session runs for 5 days, with the option to attend some or all of our camp days for the week.

Horse Show Opportunities

With a focus on fun and team-spirit, Millside Stables offers a variety of showing experiences to riders of all levels. We are proud to offer our students a wide variety of show-grade horses to partner with. Whether it's your first schooling show, or a recognized show circuit, riders will feel prepared and supported when stepping into the ring!

Please note, a horse lease is available but not required to compete on any of our show circuits.

Horse Boarding

Millside boasts a wide variety of amenities for our boarders and their horses. Boarders are welcome to use all of our facilities at their convenience. This includes a large insulated indoor arena, climate controlled tack room, viewing gallery, three large outdoor sand rings, one seasonal grass ring, and acres of fenced paddocks for turn out.

All boarding services include:
- 24/7 supervision by Millside owner who lives on site
- Large 10' x 10' rubber matted stalls
- Hay available at all times
- Grain fed daily according to each horses specific needs
- Group turnout according to weather conditions
- Blankets on and off according to weather conditions 
- Large paddocks with shelter and fresh water

Monthly Rates: Indoor $575 (+HST) | Outdoor $475 (+HST)
Full and Part-Leasing Program

Leasing a horse is a great opportunity to experience the benefits or horse ownership without the additional costs associated with board, veterinary care, farrier maintenance, etc. as these services are included in the lease price. Riders will have the opportunity to try a variety of horses matched to their skill set before deciding on their next partner for their in-barn lease.

Monthly Rates: Full Lease $750 (+HST) | Part Lease: $480 (+HST)
